RECYCLING UPDATE: Co-mingled recycling markets only accept materials that meet their requirements. The list of acceptable items appears below:
All Recycling, paper, glass, plastic and cans can be mixed and put out together on your scheduled pick up day
ALUMINUM, GLASS, PLASTIC, STEEL, TIN –All of the following items may be comingled and must be rinsed clean. Food and beverage items only. No plate glass or dishware. Plastic should be #1 & #2. Cannot exceed five 6-gallon containers or one 30-gallon container.
NEWSPAPER - should be mixed in recycling buckets with other recyclable items.
CARDBOARD - Should be flattened to 2’x2’ sections and should be mixed in recycling buckets with other recyclable items.
MIXED PAPER - Mixed Paper includes:
Chipboard: cereal boxes, cake mix boxes, cracker and cookie boxes, etc.
Paper: Letterhead, colored and white paper, junk mail, shredded paper
Books: soft cover, hard cover with binding and covers removed and phonebooks
Recycling bins can be purchased at the Borough Office.
NO Plastic Bags.
Recyclables in plastic bags will not be picked up

MUNICIPAL CLERK– FULL TIME –
Position available immediately. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with strong organizational, collaborative and interpersonal skills. The ideal Applicant will possess knowledge of all aspects of the proper operation of a Municipal Clerks office in accord with applicable New Jersey statutes. The Applicant must be capable of effectively working with the governing body in accomplishing the issues facing a municipality. The candidate should reside within a reasonable distance from the Borough of Neptune City. The candidate must be able to demonstrate effective agenda preparation and governing body communication strategies, effective OPRA response strategies, custodial skills of all municipal corporation records, minutes, books, deeds, contracts among others, knowledge of managing elections, knowledge of ordinance and resolution preparation and advertisement requirements. The Applicant shall be capable of effectively drafting their own correspondence, and resolutions. The applicant will possess a Registered Municipal Clerk license as per N.J.S.A. 5:32-5 et. Seq., or pursuing such a designation while appointed to the position as per N.J.S.A. 5:32-5.3. Prior successful experience as a deputy municipal clerk or appointed municipal clerk is desired.
