MARRIAGE LICENSE AND CIVIL UNION APPLICATIONS


Marriage License Applications
You may make an appointment for a marriage license application by calling 732-776-7224 extension 41.
The bride or groom should be a resident of the Borough of Neptune City.  If the bride lives out of state, the couple should go to the town where the groom is a resident.  In the event that both the bride and the groom are from out of state, the couple should apply in the town where the marriage is to take place.

The couple and a witness over the age of eighteen who knows the both of them should apply.  The fee is $28, payable in cash or two separate checks; one for $3.00 and one for $25.00.  The bride, the groom and the witness must have valid identification.

Once the application is made, we will hold the application for 72 hours.  After the waiting period, you may pick up the application.  Your marriage license is valid for thirty days and your marriage must occur during this time.

After your marriage takes place, you may obtain a certified copy in the town where the marriage occurred.

 

Civil Union Applications
You may make an appointment for a Civil Union License application by calling 732-776-7224 extension 41.

You may apply for a Civil Union License in the town that either party resides in.    If one partner  lives out of state, the couple should go to the town where the other party is a resident.  In the event that both parties  are from out of state, the couple should apply in the town where the civil union  is to take place.

The couple and a witness over the age of eighteen who knows the both of them should apply.  The fee is $28, payable in cash or two separate checks; one for $3.00 and one for $25.00.  Everyone will be required to present valid identification.

Once the application is made, we will hold the application for 72 hours.  After the waiting period, you may pick up the application.  Your civil union license is valid for thirty days and your ceremony  must occur during this time.

After your ceremony takes place, you may obtain a certified copy in the town where the civil union occurred.
